Mangaluru: Many people were left disappointed here at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre as the said interaction by the audience with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through his well-known ‘Mann Ki Baat’ did not take place on Sunday, September 30th. Previously, the district BJP had widely publicised the programme as a rare opportunity for people to interact with PM Modi.
However, the people who had gathered at the hall with much expectation were left high and dry with no such interaction taking place. The audience had to be contented with only the speech.
PM Modi spoke about Mahatma Gandhi, the anniversary of surgical strikes and also ‘Swacch Bharat Mission’. The programme ended with former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik giving the vote of thanks, but the people’s disappointment remained.
The district BJP had widely spread the message of interaction with PM Modi on social media. The programme which was telecasted at the hall on a giant screen is also telecasted on radio and television.
The reason
The district BJP defended itself saying that the said interaction was not possible due to some technical reason with the jammer at the central prison being one among them.
