Man’s body found in river in Jammu

Jammu:  Police today recovered the body of a 22-year-old man from the Chenab river in the district here, a police official said.

An information was received at Akhnoor police station that an unidentified man was lying at Chandian near Gurdwara at the bank of the river, he said. The deceased has been identified as Kulbir Singh of Kot Mara Tehsil Khour by his relatives, he said.

Since the circumstances leading to his death were suspicious, an inquest proceeding has been initiated to ascertain the cause of his death, he added. A post mortem was conducted and the body has been handed over to the family, the official said.
