Maravoor bridge to be opened for vehicles on July 30

Mangaluru: Repair and restoration work on a pillar of the Maravoor bridge built across River Phalguni on Mangaluru-Atrady state highway that had jerked a little, has been finished.
Dakshina Kannada District Commissioner Rajendra KV on Thursday, July 29 informed that the Maravoor Bridge restoration work has been successfully completed and it has passed the heavyweight stress test.
The DC further informed that by tomorrow (July 30) afternoon the bridge will be open for all transport vehicles.
The major link and shortest route to the international airport from the city here passes through Maravoor bridge. This bridge had developed cracks after one of its pillars jerked.
