Bantwal: Three members of the same family jumped off from Panemangaluru bridge into the Netravati river on Saturday night and it has been found out that the trio are from Virajpet.
Among the tree, one woman was rescued by the locals, but she lost her life while being rushed to the hospital. The deceased is identified as Kavita Mandanna. It is being said that the other two who jumped into the river were her children, son Kaushik and daughter Kalpita. They have not yet been located and the search to find them is ongoing.
Apparently, Kavita’s husband Kishan had committed suicide. Shocked by the sudden development, the family had come to Mangaluru, written a death note and then proceeded to commit suicide by jumping into the river, inform police sources.
The trio came in an Eeco car with the number plate KA 08 MA 0489, parked the car near Panemangaluru bridge and committed suicide by plunging into the river.
Bantwal town police have registered a case in this regard.
