MCC inspection drive: Trade licenses withdrawn for violating Covid guidelines

Mangaluru: MCC officials from the health and revenue department of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) on Saturday conducted an inspection drive and withdrew trade licenses for violating Covid-19 guidelines.
Following complaints regarding commercial establishments defying weekend lockdown, MCC officials raided several shops and withdrew two trade licenses.
MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar said that a total of 43 cases of violation were found during the inspection drive and a total fine of Rs 12,000 was collected.
As per the guidelines, commercial establishments are not allowed to function apart from essential and emergency services.
