MCC launches online property tax payment system

Mangaluru: As digital payment usage is increasing in the country, Mangaluru city corporation on Monday launched a portal facilitating online payment of property tax for its citizens.
City Mayor Premananda Shetty, alongside city corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar, MLAs D Vedavyasa Kamath and Dr Y Bharath Shetty launched the portal — https://www.mccpropertytax.in/Public/ at a press conference here.
The Mayor said that the portal is user-friendly and will offer convenience to the public as they can now pay property taxes from the comforts of their home apart from verifying property and payment details.
Citizens paying taxes via online services will receive entire details of past and upcoming payments, he added.
Procedure
1. Register on the official website link by entering your mobile number and the OTP sent on the number.
2. Confirm if the land has been converted. If yes, provide details of the actual area as per the sale deed.
3. Verify the building number, Khata number, property ID, address of the owner, and fill other details.
4. If the property has been rented, details of tenants have to be provided. Select the road where the property is located; enter if it is commercial, residential, non-commercial, etc.
5. Enter other required details accurately.
6. After rechecking all the information and the payable tax amount opt for online payment methods or in case of offline payments, generate the challan and pay dues through the bank.
