Mangaluru: Adopting a consumer-friendly approach, the Mangaluru city corporation on Friday launched the online water bill payment and ‘MCC trade licence’ app.
Consumers will now be required to visit the official website of the city corporation, www.mangalurucity.mrc.gov.in and make their payment online by filling the requisite details. Alternatively, the consumers can also do on-the-spot payment by using the QR code in the possession of the MPW workers at the time of issuance of the bill, informed MCC Deputy commissioner Dr Santosh Kumar.
With the introduction of the ‘MCC trade licence’ app, applications for new license or renewal/cancellation of an existing license can be done online.
The move will be beneficial for the public and avoid the need to visit office, stated City corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar. He also warned of huge penalties for illegal water connections and urged people to get them regularised at the earliest.
