MCC polls: Cong invites suggestions before drafting election manifesto

Mangaluru: With barely a fortnight to go for Mangaluru City Corporation elections, district Congress party organised a meeting, inviting suggestions for their manifesto at Lions Seva Mandir at Mallikatte here on Tuesday, October 29.
Speaking at the meeting, Former MLA J R Lobo said that the suggestions raised at the meeting will be deliberated upon and included in the party manifesto.
Stressing on the fact that Congress had fulfilled 70% of the works mentioned in the last election manifesto, Lobo assured that this year too the manifesto will be implemented effectively.
Issues such as the formation of ward committees, road safety, drinking water supply and rejuvenation of water bodies were among the several suggestions that were raised during the meeting.
An NGO member, Harini raised the issue of women’s safety and suggested that it should be included in the manifesto.
MLC Ivan D Souza, vice president district Congress Committee Dinesh Alva and others were present.
