Meet Krishnamurthy Subramanian, the man who authored the Economic Survey 2021

Chief Economic Adviser Krishnamurthy Subramanian, who assumed the position in 2018, is the chief architect of the Economic Survey 2021.

He’s an alumnus of IIT-Kanpur and IIM-Calcutta and holds a PhD from Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. He was an Assistant Professor of Finance at US’ Emory University and also served as Bandhan Bank’s Founding Board Member (2015-2018).

According to LiveMint, he has been a part of the expert committees including the PJ Nayak Committee on governance of banks for the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Uday Kotak Corporate Governance Committee of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Subramanian’s research in banking, law and finance, innovation and economic growth, and corporate governance has been published in the world’s leading journals.
