Sakaleshpur/Subrahmanya: A significant meeting regarding the Shiradi Ghat tunnel project is scheduled to be held today (August 12), with Karnataka Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in attendance. The project is expected to move forward quickly.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda had recently discussed the construction of the tunnel with Nitin Gadkari, who stated that the project would proceed if the state government provided the necessary forest land.

In this context, Minister Satish Jarkiholi is holding meetings in Delhi with Union ministers regarding state-related projects over the next two days.

There is a strong possibility that the state government will approve the land acquisition required for the Shiradi Ghat tunnel.

Political leaders have stated that the construction of the tunnel would significantly boost economic activities between Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
