Members of Pro-Kannada Outfits Arrested for Damaging Properties of Minister Tanveer Sait

Bengaluru: A group of members of pro Kannada outfits were arrested after they tried siege the residence of Karnataka State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait located at Race Course Road in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The members of the outfits came urging the minister to bring new reforms in the education system of the state. The protesters also arrived to urge Sait to take appropriate action against those who run English medium schools registering them as Kannada medium, to stop donation system, to control private schools in the state. However, the minister was out of his residence when the protesters arrived to ask him to fulfill their demands.

Following the absence of the minister, the members of pro Kannada outfits were reportedly turned violent and damaged glasses of the windows of the residence, flower pots and other properties kept at the premises of minister’s residence. The high grounds police arrived at the spot soon after incident and arrested the activists who engaged in offence.
