MES wins Belagavi City Corporation Elections as Kannadigas fail to show solidarity

Belagavi: Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) won elections held for Belagavi City Corporation (BCC). Sanjot Bandekar has been elected as Mayor of BCC. MES won 32 seats of total 61 seats to win the elections followed by members of Kannada Group 24 seats and Others 05 seats.
Factionalism within Kannada group is said to be the reason to loss elections as more than one candidates contested in the elections held for Mayor post. The election result is said to be a big blow on the Kanndigas residing in BCC as they fail to show unity in the elections.
