MIA custom officials foil gold smuggling bids

Mangaluru: Customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport foiled two gold smuggling bids on Saturday, February 2 and seized 475.36 grams of the yellow metal valued at Rs 15.81 lakh.
It is gathered that the officials had apprehended two passengers who had arrived on Spice Jet flight SG60 from Dubai.
In the first instance, the passenger had concealed 358.78 grams of gold in the form of foils while in the other case the passenger was trying to smuggle the gold, weighing 116.580 grams in his rectum.
