MIA explosive case: State govt seeks interim police report

Mangaluru: In connection with the live explosives found at Mangaluru International Airport, the Karnataka state government has reportedly directed the police to submit an interim report by Friday afternoon.
The government has sought this report from the office of Mangaluru Police Commissioner which will then be forwarded to the Union Home Ministry.
On Monday, January 20 a bag containing live explosives was found at the IndiGo ticket counter of the airport terminal building. Later on Wednesday morning, Aditya Rao, tha accused in the case surrendered before Bengaluru police and confessed to placing the explosives.
Rao was brought to Mangaluru amid police protection on Wednesday night. He was produced before a magistrate court here on Thursday which remanded him to 10-day police custody.
