Min Angara, Kota Poojary launch Covid19 vaccination drive in M’luru

Mangaluru: Newly-inducted minister and Sullia MLA Angara and District in-charge minister Kota Poojary on Saturday inaugurated the Covid-19 vaccination drive in Mangaluru.

District Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra, MLA Vedavyas Kamath and others were present at the moment.

In Dakshina Kannada district, the vaccination drive is taking place at six centres — District Wenlock Hospital, Urban Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Surathkal, taluk hospitals of Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia.

Over 40,000 health workers in Dakshina Kannada district will be vaccinated in the first phase of the drive starting today.

The Covishield vaccines manufactured by Serum Institute of India had arrived in the city on January 14.
