Bengaluru: State Muzrai and Haj and Waqf Minister Shashikala Jolle has clarified that there are no proposals before the state government for starting a separate college for Muslim girl students.
The clarification comes after rumours about the proposal of a separate college for Muslim girl students made rounds across social media platforms. This had irked activists of pro-Hindu organizations and some of the BJP party leaders.
Meanwhile, Jolle said, “At the government level, no proposal has been tabled yet and the statements given by the Waqf Board chairperson about starting colleges for Muslim girl students, separately, is his opinion and not that of the state government.”
“I’ve already spoken to him and also directed him to give a clarification to people to avoid any confusion or chaos”, she added.
