Min Sudhakar makes counselling compulsory in DHFW transfers

Bengaluru: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar has made counselling mandatory for all transfers in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
In an order issued on Wednesday, he stated that all transfers of medical officers and other staff in the department must be only after counselling.
The moves come in view to stop arbitrary transfers of officers and staff and enhance efficiency and transparency in the department and end lobbying and recommendations.
Arbitrary transfers continued unabated even though the Karnataka State Civil Services (Regulation of Transfer of Medical Officers and other Staff) Act, 2011 provides that all transfers except administrative staff must happen through counselling.
