Bengaluru: A delegation of MLCs from the Teachers and Graduates constituency headed by Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar on Wednesday met Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and formally submitted an appeal requesting him to provide assistance to the staff of unaided schools.
“Teachers and non-teaching staff of private unaided schools are facing severe financial difficulties. The state of this community is miserable. Many people in this community are selling fruits and vegetables to make a living. It is our duty to treat them with dignity. An economic package from the government will help the community,” Kumar said during the meet.
“We have requested the provision of necessary medical facilities to the staff of government and unaided school and colleges, speedy assignment of jobs to the family members of deceased staff and other issues were discussed with the chief minister,” Kumar later said.
Minister Suresh Kumar was accompanied by MLCs Dr YA Narayan Swamy, Puttanna, Arun Shahapur, Shashil Namoshi, Sankanur, Hanamant Nirani and Chidananda Gowda as part of the delegation.
