Bengaluru: State minister for water resources D K Shivakumar and four others were granted conditional interim bail by the court of economic offences in a case registered against them, based on the allegation of providing false information to income tax department on Thursday August 2nd.
Sachin Narayan, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Anjaneya and Rajendra, along with Shivakumar were granted bail by the court abd have been directed to provide surety bonds of Rs 50,000. The next hearing will be on September 20th. Judge of the court Justice M S Alva conducted the proceedings.
Case under sections 277, 278, 193, 199 and 120(B) of Income tax has been filed against the minister. The case relates to recovery of Rs 8.59 crore during the raid on the residences of Shivakumar and his close ones last year.
Earlier, the Court had served summons for the personal appearance of Shivakumar, and four others in the court on Thursday. Except Sunil Narayan, the other four had appeared in the court. The high court has stayed hearing by special economic offences court into charges levelled against Sachin Narayan.
