Mangaluru: Two aides of rowdy sheeter Sharan from Akash Bhavan, who is accused of raping a minor girl and currently absconding, have been arrested by the Mangaluru Women Police on Friday January 18th.

The arrested have been identified as Nivesh (28), son of Venkatesh Poojary, a resident of Someshwar in Kotekar and Durgesh (25), son of Padmanabh, a resident of Uday Nagar near KPT.

The crime

Apparently, Sharan had allegedly raped a minor girl a few days ago with help from the arrested duo. Later, they uploaded derogatory comments on the same girl on social media. A case under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act has been registered against the accused.

The incident

As per sources, Sharan used to give training for Huli Vesha (Tiger Dance) and the victim was one of his students. The rowdy sheeter took advantage of this situation and confined the girl who had come for training in a lodge for three days and raped her repeatedly with help from Nivesh and Durgesh.

When the girl fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, the incident came to light and the criminal Sharan fled.  However, Nivesh and Durgesh were arrested based on the complaint, but the main accused rowdy sheeter Sharan remains to be nabbed.

Rowdy sheeter Sharan

There are several cases pending against Sharan in connection to murder, attempt to murder and extortion among others. There is also suspicion that he is an aide of underworld element Vicky Shetty. Sharan was under incarceration for some time, but was released on a bail recently.
