Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta has dismissed the complaint against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former minister KJ George in relation to misappropriation of funds over construction of Indira Canteens in the city and supply of food to these canteens.
The complainant, Ganesh Singh had accused Siddaramaiah, George and IFS officer Ranjan of creating false invoices in connection with the consumption of food at Indira Canteens in Bengaluru.
As the complainant failed to produce supporting evidence for his charges, Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty dismissed the complaint against Siddaramaiah and George.
Observing that food supply to canteen is done under the supervision of BBMP the Lokayukta contended that the accounts section of the BBMP was answerable for the allegations.
The BBMP Commissioner and Ranjan have been asked to submit their response on the allegations by July 15.
