Miscreants loot liquor from MSIL outlet in Hubballi

Hubballi: Miscreants on Friday night looted Indian Made Liquor worth Rs 60,000 and Rs 46,000 in cash after gaining entry into a liquor store near Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Gabbur Cross in Old Hubballi here. The theft took place at Mysuru Sales International Limited (MSIL) liquor outlet.
Liquor outlets in the city are shut since March 24 due to the lockdown imposed to contain spread of coronavirus. Taking advantage of the situation, the miscreants allegedly broke open the store shutters and made away with Beer and other liquor products as well as Rs 46,000 cash. The incident came to light on Saturday morning.
A case has been registered at Bendigeri police station in this regard.
In last two days, two suicides were reported from Kerala and Hyderabad allegedly because the tipplers were unable to get liquor amid the 21-day lockdown.
