Miscreants loot Rs 22.67 lakh from bank in Sheikhpura

Sheikhpura(Bihar): Around half a dozen armed miscreants today looted more than Rs 22 lakh from a nationalised bank located in the heart of Sheikhpura town here, police said.
As the branch of the Indian Bank located at Katra chowk, opened in the morning, around half a dozen armed miscreants barged into the bank and held the manager Pankaj Kumar and other staff captive before decamping with Rs 22.67 lakh from cash counter, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Sharan said.
The miscreants also thrashed the branch manager and a customer, the SDPO said adding that they also locked the main gate of the bank branch from outside before decamping with the looted money. The borders of the district have been sealed and police teams are conducting raids to nab the miscreants, he added.
