Kunigal: Miscreants broke into the house of former minister KS Eshwarappa’s relative at Kasaba Hobli and decamped with gold and diamond ornaments, foreign currencies and other valuables.

Eshwarappa’s relative Padma had been residing at the rented house here with her husband, Siddesh, a coconut merchant and two children.

As her husband had left town for business-related reasons, Padma too had gone to Shivamogga along with her children on May 23. When she returned on June 17 she was shocked to find the door broken open.

The miscreants had used iron rods to break enter into the house. Gold ornaments worth 500 grams, foreign currencies — 1,000 US dollars, 5,800 Hong Kong dollars, 3,200 Dirhams — worth Rs three lakhs have been reported missing.

A case in this regard has been filed with Kunigal police.
