Miscreants throw pork inside mosque premises, case filed

Udupi: Unidentified miscreants allegedly threw pork into Nagoor Noor Jamia Masjid premises at Nagoor near Byndoor here on Monday night.

The incident came to light when a person named Salim came to offer namaz at the mosque at 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Salim noticed the pieces of pork scattered in the mosque premises and brought the matter to the notice of the managing committee of the mosque which, in turn, informed the police.

Byndoor police visited the masjid and examined the footage from the CCTV camera installed at the premises. It was found that two bike-borne persons threw the pork into the mosque premises at around 10.45 pm and later fled the spot.

Police have registered a case and begun investigations.
