Bengaluru: Miscreants desecrated a statue of late Sandalwood actor Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan at Magadi road here on late Friday, December 26 night.

Following the incident, Vishnuvardhan’s fans have staged a protest demanding justice.

Magadi police have registered a case in this regard.

It may be recalled that recently a Telugu actor had made derogatory comments about late actor Dr Vishnuvardhan. The issue came to light after television actor Anirrudha Jatkar, who is the son-in-law of Vishnuvardhan in a FaceBook post said, “Vijaya Rangaraju should mind about his language and about whom he is talking. Vishnuvardhan in his career has treated all artists equally. I don’t know how he could make such remarks when he is not alive. Vishnuvardhan has fans in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh so I request the Telugu industry to take action against him. I will also ask him not to come to Karnataka as he will face consequences for his remarks made against Sahasa Simha.”

Since then, it snowballed into a full-blown issue wherein his distasteful comment was been condemned by many people in the state for being uncalled for.

Two of the biggest stars in the film industry, Kichcha Sudeep and Puneeth Rajkumar also voiced their opinion and stated that they demand an apology from the Telugu actor.
