‘Missing’ Udupi woman was taken into custody by CID police at Kuwait airport

Udupi: A 63-year-old woman, hailing from Udupi who had been working as a housemaid in Kuwait for the last 28 years went missing on September 12 from Kuwait International Airport.

On September 12, the lady was supposed to board an Indigo flight to Bengaluru from Kuwait. She had spoken to her daughter from the airport and informed that there was some issue with her immigration clearance after which her phone was not reachable.

With no clue about her mother, the daughter uploaded a video clip on social media seeking help to trace her.

It is now gathered that the Kuwait CID police took the woman into custody. However, the reason for her detention her is not known.

Responding to her daughter’s appeal, a few community leaders have contacted the Kuwait embassy and requested them to address the issue.
