Bengaluru: The trend of mob lynching appears to have set its foot into Karnataka, with the killing of a Rajasthan-based youth in the evening of Wednesday May 23 after mistaking him to be involved with theft of children and killing them. The episode resulted in his demise in the deal.

The individuals from the public joined in to mercilessly hit Kalooram (26) from Rajasthan near Ranganatha Talkies in Pension Mohalla, Cottonpet here on Wednesday evening.

It is said that local people saw that Kalooram was lingering in Pension Mohalla at around 1 pm on Wednesday under suspicious conditions. Individuals got dicey about his aims, caught him, and questioned him. A couple in the group talked among themselves, communicating the likelihood of Kalooram being a child theif. As the issue spread, several individuals met up. In the pretense of scrutinizing the youth, individuals hit him with whatever they could lay their hands on, like bat, wooden stick and bare hands. When he tumbled down, he was kicked around, it is said.

A man who saw the episode, called the police control room. At the point when the ‘Hoysala’ vehicle of the police reached the spot, the aggressors scattered. The policemen took Kalooram, who was all the while breathing, to Victoria Hospital yet he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
