Manipal: Department of Mathematics of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal will organize a National Conference on Applications of Mathematics and Statistics in Engineering-2018 (NCAMSE-2018) from June 20th– 22nd, 2018. The conference is supported by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
The conference aims to address diverse branches of Mathematics, Statistics and interdisciplinary research. Scientists of the region should expect to gain considerably from the conference by resource persons. It will also provide an opportunity for young researchers to learn about some latest developments in related fields.
The conference is driven by the ideas on challenges faced by the contemporary world on managing data of varied proportion and mathematicians’ significant role in this. In the world of ever-increasing digitalization, there is a need for appropriate statistical methods to draw accurate conclusion from the voluminous data. These methods use advanced mathematical ideas combined with modern computational techniques, which require expert knowledge and experience to apply.
The resource persons: Dr. E.Sampath Kumar (Emeritus Professor of Mysore University, Mysuru; Dr.Achyutha Krishnamoorthy(Emeritus fellow of the UGC & Honourable Director of centre for research in Mathematics, CMS College, Kottayam); Dr. Asok Nanda (IISER, Kolkata) ;Dr. Arjun Kumar Rathie (Vedant College of Engineering & Technology, Rajasthan); Dr. A.Kandasamy (NITK, Suratkal, Karnataka); Dr.B.R.Shankar(NITK, Suratkal, Karnataka); Dr. Aniruddha Pant, Founder, CEO, Algoanalytics, Pune, Maharashtra; Dr. Rajesh Pandey, IIT(BHU), Varanasi.
Dr. D. Srikanth Rao, Director, MIT, Manipal said that NCAMSE-2018 will provide an opportunity to update, share, and advance the learning desired in the field among academicians and researchers. Dr. Pradeep G. Bhat, the HOD of Mathematics, MIT said, “the delegates will have a unique experience from the deliberations on the latest in the field of Mathematics and Statistics.”
