Bantwal: MLA and former minister U T Khader donated his own land of 20 cents to the Dalavayi family for Nagaradhane and through his action, has led from front and showed communal harmony.
A property owned by Khader at Pariyaltadka of the taluk has a Nagabana on the land, which belonged to the Dalavayi family. The family members had requested the former minister to give the land to them as they were ready to buy the same from him so that they could conduct rituals for the Naga. However, Khader donated the same to the Dalavayi family without taking a penny from them and thereby showed exemplary communal harmony and charity.
It is believed that Khader told to the Dalavayi family members that do not need to pay anything for the land as he would give them the land for free. “You should not face any hurdles in conducting the religious ritual to the Nagabana,” said the former minister.
“I have donated the land with the intention of paying respect to the tradition, religion and culture of a religion. Our parents have taught us in the childhood itself to respect culture and tradition of others. I have donated this land with the motto of respecting other religions, while following mine,” explained Mr Khader.
