MLA Narayan Rao dies of COVID-19

Bengaluru: Congress legislator B Narayan Rao, who was admitted to a private hospital in the city with severe coronavirus infection passed away on Thursday, September 24. He was 65.

The 66-year-old MLA representing Basavakalyan constituency in Bidar district was admitted to the hospital on September 1 after he tested positive for the infection.

“Narayan Rao who was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road on September 1 diagnosed of Severe COVID-19 infection passed away at 3.55p.m, today. He was critically ill with multi-organ failure on multiple supports including a ventilator in the Intensive care unit under constant observation by our expert panel of doctors.
We deeply regret the loss and express our condolences to his family and friends,” said Dr Manish Rai, Hospital Director of Manipal Hospitals in a statement.
