MLA Vedavyas Kamath accused the Congress government of engaging in divisive politics and called for the unconditional implementation of all the promised guarantee schemes announced before the elections.
Speaking at a press conference, Kamath said, “The guarantee schemes announced by the Congress have created immense confusion. The government is grappling with the implementation of its promises. The Congress made these announcements without providing clear details, leading to a lack of clarity. In certain districts, there have been instances of people assaulting meter reading staff.”
Kamath urged the Congress to fulfill their guarantee schemes without imposing any conditions.
He said, ” The central government already supplies 5 kg of rice and the Congress is deceiving people by merely offering an additional 5 kg. The Congress should provide a total of 10 kg of rice, excluding the 5 kg received from the central government.”
“Congress of engaging in vote bank politics by manipulating school textbook content. The party is also hindering development by withholding the release of funds amounting to Rs 20,000 crore. Congress has also failed to visit areas affected by natural disasters in Hassan and Chikkamagaluru despite being in power,” he added.
Kamath said, “Cases have been filed against MLA Harish Poonja and former minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan. The Congress is seeking revenge against BJP leaders. Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya faced an insult from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after she took an oath in the name of a deity, while he remained silent when Congress leaders took oaths in their leader’s name. The current government represents a coalition between the factions led by D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah.”
