Udupi: MLA Yashpal Suvarna has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the network of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the coastal region.

In his letter, Suvarna pointed out the case of seven Bangladeshi nationals who were recently arrested in Malpe for residing illegally. The police’s preliminary investigation has revealed a large number of illegal Bangladeshi citizens residing in the coastal areas, which has caused concern among the locals.

Suvarna raised the alarm about the “dangerous situation”, noting that the arrested individuals had fake Aadhaar cards and passports. He also mentioned the suspected existence of a network supporting these illegal immigrants.

The MLA emphasized the need for a high-level investigation to uncover the full extent of these “anti-national elements” and their activities. He stressed the importance of taking strict action against forces that threaten national security.
