MLA’s plea to CM on separate Sand policy for Coastal region

Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary along with other BJP leaders met CM Yediyurappa and urged for speedy implementation of separate sand policy in Dakshina Kannada. Responding to which CM BSY promised to take necessary action and implement the policy.
Earlier, The government had mooted a separate policy for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts, following pressure from political leaders, who have been favouring preferential allocation of sand mining blocks as against auctioning.
