The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious in Kaup and Kotekar Town panchayat in the Urban local body polls.
In Kaup, out of the 23 municipal wards, the BJP has won 12 wards, Congress 7 wards, SDPI 3 and JDS one ward.
In Kotekar town panchayat, BJP has retained power by winning 11 out of 17 seats. While Congress won 4 seats, SDPI won 1 seat.
