M’luru blast: Terror suspect Shariq recovers from injuries; interrogation intensified

Mangaluru: Terror suspect Mohammed Shariq, who had been seriously injured in the cooker bomb blast in an autorickshaw in the city, has mostly recovered.  Following this, his interrogation picked up the pace.

A team of NIA officers has started his questioning, sources said.

Shariq had sustained 45 percent burns when the cooker bomb he was carrying exploded in an autorickshaw near Naguri on November 19. He had also inhaled toxic chemical fumes and other injuries as a result of the blast. The investigation team could not interrogate him as he was in critical condition.

Following his recovery, sources said that the NIA investigation has intensified.

The victim in the case, Purushottam Poojari, the autorickshaw driver who was injured in the incident, is also recovering.
