M’luru: CCB police arrest three for sale of MDMA; seize items worth Rs 12L

Mangaluru CCB police have arrested three individuals for allegedly selling the banned narcotic substance MDMA.
The arrested individuals — Shajahan P.M. (32) from Kasaragod; Mohammad Nishad (27) from Delampady; and Mansoor M.M. (27) from Madikeri were found in possession of 42 grams of MDMA, which they had brought from Bengaluru to Mangaluru by car.
Acting on a tip-off about the sale of narcotics to the public and students in the NITK-Suratkal and Mukka areas, police raided the spot and seized 42 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 2.10 lakhs, five mobile phones, a new Maruti Baleno car, and a digital weighing scale from the arrested persons.
The total value of the seized assets is estimated at Rs 12.18 lakhs. A case has been registered at the CEN Crime Police Station.
The police believe that more individuals are involved in this drug trafficking network and are continuing their investigation. They also noted that the accused were engaged in drug sales to fund a luxurious lifestyle.
One of the accused, Shajahan, has seven prior cases related to drug trafficking and consumption registered against him at various police stations in Kasaragod, Bekal, Vidyanagar, and Kumble. Another accused, Mohammad Nishad, has two prior cases of motorcycle theft registered against him at the Puttur and Madikeri police stations.
