M’luru: Compol attends 33 calls, listens to public grievances during phone-in programme

Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Jain on Saturday received as many as 33 calls from the general public during the phone-in programme.
The commissioner listened to the public grievances regarding civic and traffic issues. Callers complained about vehicles being parked on footpaths, auto drivers charging excessive fares, and illegal activities such as matka, cock fights among other things.
Speaking at the phone-in programme, Kuldeep Jain said that he will speak to RTO officials to initiate action against errant auto drivers. Further, he informed that he would write to NHAI and Mangaluru City Corporation asking them to paint zebra crossing spots.
He also informed that the department plans to hold mental health awareness programme for the elderly through home visits.
