Mangaluru: The dates for the Karnataka Assembly elections have been announced, and the Congress party has released its first list of candidates. However, there appears to be a rift within the party, with workers protesting against the chosen candidate for the Sullia constituency, G Krishnappa.

Congress workers, on March 29, were seen protesting outside the party office in the city, demanding that Krishnappa’s ticket be cancelled and given to a candidate with a better chance of winning.

They suggested Nandakumar as a replacement candidate and appealed to the high command through Congress district president K Harish Kumar to revise the list. Hundreds of Congress workers gathered at the party office to support this demand.
