Mangaluru Dasara: Ban on liquor on procession day

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P has issued a circular for the closure of bars, wine shops, and liquor outlets at places in the district on account of the Dasara procession.

As per the order, liquor shops located on the route earmarked for the procession will remain closed. Also, prohibition has also been issued against the sale of any intoxicating substances to ensure that the procession culminates in an orderly manner.

The move has been issued in public safety to avoid any untoward incidents on the day of the grand procession as a result of alcohol intoxication.
