Mangaluru: Dairy farmers in the twin coastal districts are set to get higher revenue for the milk they produce. Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (DKMUL) has decided to raise the milk purchase price by one rupee.

DKMUL president Raviraja Hegde issued a notification informing that milk will be procured from the dairy farmers in the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts at Rs 29 per liter.

The purchase rate has been revised as the current market situation has recovered and a need for incentivizing milk producers was felt, he added.

The decision was taken at the recently held governing body meeting, he said.
