M’luru-Goa Vande Bharat to be flagged off on Dec 30; MP Nalin Kumar inspects preparedness

Mangaluru: Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel inspected the preparations at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station on December 29, reviewing the preparations for the launch of the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat train. He also inspected the newly constructed 4-5th platforms and the Vande Bharat Express stationed at the pit line.
Commenting on the significant connectivity facilitated by the Vande Bharat train between the coastal cities in Goa and Karnataka, MP Nalin Kumar highlighted its anticipated impact on tourism, commerce, and educational activities.
Key figures including MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Palakkad Division DRM Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, ADR M Jayakrishnan, and railway officials were present during the inspection.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate six trains via video conferencing, including the Vande Bharat Express, between Mangaluru and Madgaon on December 30 at 10 am.
A special program is scheduled at the Mangaluru Central railway station, where esteemed personalities including Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader, DK district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Rajya Sabha member Dr. Veerendra Heggade, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, and others will partake.
The inaugural train will depart Mangaluru at 11 am, making ceremonial stops at Suratkal, Mulky, and other stations en route to Madgaon, where it’s expected to arrive in the evening. Notably, MP Nalin Kumar and other dignitaries are slated to travel on this maiden journey.
