M’luru: Huge billboard crashes near Clock Tower; Cars damaged

Mangaluru: A massive billboard, installed near the clock tower in the city, came crashing down on the afternoon of April 26.

The hoarding was reportedly erected next to the Town Hall gate for advertising that the city will be hosting the senior national powerlifting championships from April 27. But, the banner, along with the metal structure, suddenly crashed onto the road at around 1.45 PM on Tuesday.

Being the heart of the city, this section of the road usually remains busy. As the signboard fell on the road, there was a huge traffic jam. Fire brigade personnel were called in and they vacated the fallen structure.

It is a miracle that none were hurt in the incident.

However, some of the cars parked below the signboard were not so lucky and received minor damage in the incident.
