M’luru: Jail superintendent suspended for lapse in duties

The Superintendent of the Dakshina Kannada District Jail, B.T. Obaleshappa, has been suspended after an inquiry found lapses in his duties.
The suspension order was issued on Wednesday, December 4 pending further investigation.
This action follows a recent raid by police at the jail, where prohibited items were found inside the prison.
Additionally, K.N. Mohan Kumar, the Assistant Superintendent of Mysuru Central Jail, has been appointed as the Acting Superintendent of the Mangaluru Jail, according to an announcement by Director-General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Devajyothi Ray.
