M’luru: Man held for attempting to rob ATM

Mangaluru: A man who tried to break into an ATM machine was nabbed by the police on February 9.
The accused was identified as Beerappa, a resident of Bachanalli in Koppala district.
The theft attempt took place at a Bank of Baroda ATM near Thokottu at 2 am. Bank Surveillance officials who noticed the suspicious movements of the accused on CCTV footage alerted the police.
Police, who rushed to the spot, detained the suspect from a nearby place.
Police said ATM was found to be safe and no money was stolen.
