Mangaluru: A teenager who had gone missing was found dead a day after, on Monday, in the Nethravathi river near Hoigebazaar, reports said.

Drishyanth (16), a resident of Mahakali Padpu here had gone missing on Sunday evening. He, along with some of his friends, left the cricket ground at Mahakali Padpu at around 3.30 PM. That was his last sighting, media reports said.

After Drishyanth did not return home even after dark and efforts to locate him failed, his worried parents filed a missing complaint with the police. Mangaluru South Police, who took up the case, found the body in the Nthravathy river on Monday evening, reports added.

However, the condition in which the body was found has raised several questions about the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death. Drishyath had reportedly worn a pair of trousers when leaving home, but only his undergarments were found on his body.

Meanwhile, police have continued their investigations, after registering a case.
