Mangaluru: A memorandum submitted to Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has sought an extension of the lockdown relaxation window by one hour.
Presently, the administration has allowed a 6 am – 9 am window for the purchase of essential commodities amid the lockdown imposed to control the spread of coronavirus.
Citing that both traders and the public find the 3-hour window insufficient, a delegation led by Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyas Kamath on Wednesday met Poojary and urged him to allow for a 4-hour relaxation window.
The memorandum also mentioned that most of the shops commence business after 7 am. Thus time available to people for procuring essential commodities gets curtailed.
Poojary assured the delegation that he would take an appropriate decision after going through their demands.
