M’luru: Pedestrian dies after being hit by tempo

A 65-year-old resident of Bikarnakate died after being hit by a tempo here on Tuesday.

The deceased identified as Radhakrishna Rao was walking home when he was hit by a tempo at Kucchikadu between Kalpane and Bikkarnakatte.

Rao sustained serious injuries in the mishap and was rushed to a hospital. However, he died at around 7.45 pm without responding to the treatment.

Rao had served as a Junior Engineer in the Mescom Jeppu Branch. He was the President of Sri Harihara Panduranga Vittala Bhajan Mandir in Bikkarnakatte.

He is survived by his wife Gauri Radhakrishna, a retired teacher, a son, and a daughter.
