M’luru: Press Owner, 3 others arrested for printing counterfeit notes

The Mangaluru CCB police have arrested four individuals, including a press owner, on charges of printing counterfeit Rs 500 currency notes.
The arrested individuals have been identified as V. Priyesh (38), a resident of Kasaragod; Vinod Kumar K. (33), the press owner; Abdul Khader S.A. (58); and Ayub Khan (51) from Kadaba.
The group had allegedly printed fake Rs 500 notes after following instructions found on YouTube. The group were staying at a lodge in Hampankatta to circulate the counterfeit notes.
Acting on a tip-off, the CCB police raided the lodge, where the suspects were staying, and took them into custody. The police seized counterfeit notes worth Rs 2,13,500.
Providing details of the operation, ACP CCB Geetha D. Kulkarni stated that the team had been staying at a lodge in Hampankatta with plans to circulate the counterfeit notes in Mangaluru city. The CCB team raided the lodge and arrested the four individuals, seizing four mobile phones and Rs 9,030 in cash along with the fake notes.
