A 20-year-old youth died after his two-wheeler flung into the air and crashed on the divider while he tried to evade a pothole at Bikkarnakatte Kandettu Cross here.

The mishap took place on August 6 when the deceased identified as Aathish, a resident of Konchady was headed towards Bikarnakatte Kaikamba from Nanthoor Junction.

Owing to the water logging, Aathish did not notice a pothole on the road until the last moment. When he tried to maneuver the two-wheeler around the pothole he lost control of the vehicle and it was flung in the air. The vehicle crashed onto the divider some 50 feet away and Aatish’s head hit the iron reflector pole installed on the divider.

He sustained injuries due to the impact of the mishap and though he was rushed to a hospital, he died en route.

A case has been registered in this regard.
